I am back!

Hello, everybody!

Today is  November  1, 2016 and I have not written anything on here since May 2015.   In that time, a lot has happened.   Where do I begin?!?

Let's see, first of all, I finally got a job in Greenville.  As an account manager support associate at AFS Logistics.   Have any of you ever worked someplace that was virtually SILENT all the time?  Me either.   Till this place.   Literally at first they kept the lights all turned off, and nobody made a sound.  All you heard was the "tickety tap" of keying.  All day long.   People didn't talk to each other. AT ALL.   At first I thought it was just a quiet day and everybody was busy, but nope....that's just how the place was.   I worked there for almost a year and a half and could count on one hand the number of conversations I had with my supervisor, and the person who hired me.   She would walk past me and literally stare straight ahead and NEVER speak.   Never.  Was it me?  Was it her?   No clue.  All I know is that I managed to make a few lovely new friends there during the time I was there, even though the oddness of the place never changed.   On my last day there, I don't know who all even knew I was leaving because they didn't tell anybody.  Nor did most of them, including my supervisor, even tell me good bye.  I was grateful for the paycheck but so happy to be free of the darkness that seemed to surround the place.  I walked out virtually unnoticed on October 14, which was the same day my husband flew back into town.  Free at last.....

Why did he fly back?   Oh, did I not mention that he had been gone for a year, having been offered and having accepted a new job in Hyannis, Massachusetts-his home state.  I stayed in Greenville and worked, hung out with my kids and the girls (Daisy, Bella and CiCi) and I started packing the house in January.  I packed a room a month.  For almost a YEAR!

So, he flies into town on Friday, we load the truck with what seemed like several hundred boxes ( probably wasn't nearly that many but sure felt like it!) on Saturday, with the help of my son, Keith, and his girlfriend Abby, and we are so thankful to have had them help us.  They rented our house in Greenville and we have rented a house in Dennis MA.   We hit the road early on that Sunday morning, me and two dogs in the car, and Paul with the other dog in the Penske truck.  Let me tell you, that was a road trip from hell,   It took two days, and an overnight stay at a pet friendly hotel in Carlisle PA.  We finally arrived on Cape Cod on Monday afternoon.

So, this girl from the South has moved to the Nawth....to my beloved New England.  In autumn.  The hardest part was telling my sons I would see the, as soon as I could.  I would not say goodbye because I couldn't.  I would never tell them good bye.  Just " see you later and I love you".  I am so glad neither was there when we drove off, because it was hard enough to do without them there......knowing I wouldn't see them for a long time.   I cried halfway to Charlotte.

And the story continues.......stay tuned!
