My name is Jeannette. I am a baby boomer...and I am Southern. My husband is not. He is a Yankee! An EYE-talian Yankee. Our life is nothing less than colorful...and never dull. This is our version of the battle between the North and the South. Enjoy!

Transition
Back in July, I posted about getting things caught up and being more prompt with my posts. I guess I lied. Since I made that statement, we bought a house in another city, moved, I quit my job as the commute was just too much (still don't know why I couldn't work from the Greenville office, but oh well...) set up housekeeping in a new beautiful home, had walls removed and all windows replaced; one dog was bitten by a snake, yet another was sticken with liver damage and a LOT of surgery bills (she is going to be fine, and that's what matters) and now I am sittign here waiting for a pie to come out of the oven so we can go to Jonathan's house for an early Thanksgiving celebration.
That is what Thanksgiving is, you know - not turkey and stuffing, but TRULY being thankful. And thankful I am. For my family, my children, a wonderful, supportive husband who never complains that he works like a dog while I am not working at all, for this beautiful new home and the girls (Daisy, Bella and the newest, CiCi) whom I adore. They are my four legged children.
Moving to the Upstate has proven to be quite daunting. It is beautiful here, close to the mountains which I love, but I don't know a soul (other than the ones I knew already before we got here).
I have applied to job after job after job. No luck (except something I choose not to mention). Perhaps I am going about this all wrong. Perhaps office work is not for me. Perhaps I need to try another avenue.....but what?
My heart leans towards something creative....maybe events, special occasions, etc. My head gravitates towards what I have always done...sit behind a desk.
I even considered a quaint little gift shop; or an antiques shop. I probably have enough junk in the house to stock it fully. :-)
What type of job change would YOU do, given the chance? I'd like to know....
Happy Pre-Thanksgiving!
I promise to be more faithfully prompt at posting....good stuff.
Gobble, gobble...
